Still two races behind..
So no matter how much I try it seems as though I'll always be two races behind on this blog. Right now I'll make up for it. Last thursday I raced a local 120k Kermess, rode agressively made the front group, but a few small got away and I finished in 27th! The best thing about that race.... NO BACK PROBLEMS!
Monday I raced a pretty big race with a bunch of Belgian Pro Contenetal teams and some of the best U23 teams, 170k with 4 finishing circuts. The finish was at the top of a 400m hill at about 13% with a long fulse flat. Again made front group, but a group of riders rolled off the front about 16 strong, I missed out and I started the climb too far back on the first of the 4 circuts through the finish. With 3 laps to go I made a big attack up the climb, only one rider able to follow in attempt to bridge across the 45 second gap. We came within 15 seconds of catching but no luck. Not long after a group of about 13 guys caught us and for the last two laps we chased. Riding under the 1 K to go banner we caught the break! But to find out about 11 guys got away and were 30 seconds up. Again going into the bottom of the finishing climb I started too far back and had to weave in and out of riders up the climb and ended up finishing 6th in the group sprint landing me in 18th, with the main group rolling in 40 seconds later. Not bad for 170 Starters...
This weekend I'll be doing Gaverstreek Stage race one Time Trail and two Road Races? So Im hearing. Nobody really knows....
I think I've solved the Back problems. The Key to that was some intence stretching and AB ROLLERS!
