TTT= two broken spokes... does that mean high wattage?

Today was the TTT here in Gainesville, it was said to be 14 miles but I don't think it really was. We only had 3 guys for the TTT only needed 3 but teams of 4 were ideal. Since only having 3 we figured we would be able to find someone at the race that would like to race the TTT with Team Wheel & Sprocket. After some searching, getting the word out that we needed one more guy to fill the team we found our guy. He looked to be the average Masters rider... Cervelo P3 Carbon with Disc and tri spoke wheels.. oh and the DURA-ACE SRM.. He was in town from California for some horse shows with his daughter and thought he would do the ITT in the morning and was interested in doing the TTT. That was all we had gathered before we hit the "14 mile" course.
The course was mostly flat with a few rollers in-between. We started off pretty hard which wasn't so good for me the hart rate went sky high and could never really gain control over it. Our new team member was making long pulls, not only long but FAST. By the time we hit the turn around I was in the hurt box. He was still taking super long, fast pulls with the three of us hanging on for dear life. It wasn't much longer till i had reached my limit and popped on a slight up hill as the rest of the guys went on without me. We didn't stick around to see the results, but from the speed we were riding i think would have landed are 4Th or so. Not many team went by as fast as we were going when i popped, so i think the time was pretty good.
Turns out this guy rides for the Discovery channel Masters team... Also started working part time to focus on his goal of Breaking the Masters 40K ITT record time.
Hummmm i wish he would told me this so I knew what to expect... Or so my rear wheel would know what types of wattage was going to be put out in stead of braking two spokes in the process...

On deck tomorrow is a 80 min crit in downtown Gainesville...
