River riding
Well I was wrong, yea Floyd won the Tour of CAli .. He's just lucky there wasn't any mountains in the darn thing or he would have lost for sure. Well Floyd and all the guys who won stages where a little more lucky then this guy http://wrenegade.blogspot.com/.. Yea I think that would only suck a little bit, not much though..
Well I've been training a little bit now and I have found the greatest place to train in the winter months. It's called the "Duck Creek" its about 100 yards from my house, I've never thought to ride down the Ice (when its thick enough). My dad did it last year but I never thought it to be as much fun as it sounds. Its like riding single track that's about 15 times wider, your trying to stay upright the whole time even with studded tires, you only have so much stud's as your corner. Then its just a slip and slide. The river bank acts as a curb and probly just as hard at this time of the year. The noise your tires make as the studs dig into the ice, you never know if its the ice cracking or just the tires. There's really no snow on the ice so you can tell how thick the ice is by looking at it, it does look a bit scary but I've stopped many times as I rode just to check how thick the ice was in places that look questionable. Mix that with some good tunes and your set for riding as fare as the river takes you! Oh yea and there's like no wind on the river ! That's the best part.
Well its been a week and still no new clothing! I bet if I call and check they haven't even sent it out yet.. That's just my luck. Parkside crits are coming up quick, I cant wait.
Maybe I'll get some pics of the river riding soon if I can find a camera..
